400m Swim or 800m Kayak, 10k Cycle, 5k Run
Cuchulainn Warrior Triathlon from Carlingford Adventure Racing Club powered by Setanta Triathlon
This is a REAL MTB Tri course with something for everyone - sweet technical twisted single track, open forest fire road double track, stream crossing, a stringer of a climb from Transition.
Challenging? Yes! Totally XTERRA? Absolutely!
The 400m swim course is in Carlingford Lough.800m kayak for non swimmers. The 10k mountain bike course is located on Slieve Foy mountain on the out skirts of the picturesque village of Carlingford. The 5k run follows part of the same MTB course without the technical single track trails.
There is a stringer of a hill at the start of each section that will test the ‘granny ring’!!
There will be an aid station at the bottom which will be stocked with water etc.

I am just writing to inform everyone of this years Kilkenny triathlon
To all Competitors and New CompetitorsCastleconnell Boat Club will be running the Worlds End Triathlon on the 20th August 2011 and intend for this to become an annual event.
A Sceond Event The NEW Try a Tri event at the same time on the 20th Aug.2011
Swim 175 metres, 20km cycle,5km run.
The Main Event The triathlon will pass through the three counties of Limerick, Tipperary and Clare.
Sprint Distance: 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km runs
The Castle Oaks Hotel is within walking distance of the event, their website is http://www.castleoaks.ie/
Race prizes will be awarded to the fastest individual in each of the following categories, provided at least 3 competitors take part:
Open men
Open Women
Under 23 Men
Under 23 Women
There will also be a prize for the fastest relay team
Registration the day before the event will take place in the Shannon Inn on Friday 21st from 8pm until 10pm

Kilkenny Castle Dash for Cash
500 participants expected at ISPCC charity race
Taxback.com today launched its 10k race which it has organised to take place on Saturday July 9th with all proceeds going towards Ireland’s leading independent children’s charity ISPCC.
The run will start at Kilkenny Castle and is expected to have 500 participants and even more in attendance as spectators on the day
Taxback.com CEO Terry Clune, said the event would be a great opportunity to benefit the charity and boost the local economy, “ISPCC provides an invaluable service for Irish children so we’re delighted to be holding an event that will raise much-needed funds for this charity.” Terry continued, “Kilkenny is a great place and this type of sports event is an ideal showcase for the city. We hope that by creating a successful event we can bring more visitors to the region and make this 10k run a highlight in the country’s annual sporting calendar.”
Speaking at the launch, Anne Cooney ISPCC Corporate Fundraising Manager said, “We are delighted to have the support of Taxback.com. This fundraiser could not be easier and everyone can take part. Monies raised from the 10k run really will help us ensure the ISPCC can always reach out to Irish children who desperately need our help”.
According to Sinead Gill, Communications Manager with taxback.com, “This run isn’t just for athletes or fitness fanatics – people of all abilities and ages are welcome to come along. It’s a chance to come out and enjoy yourself while benefiting a really worthwhile charity.”
