|CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR CLUB ACTIVITIES
CHRISTMAS DAY – GOAL MILE – 11a.m.
Once again, the Goal Mile is being held at Faungorth Activity Centre from 10am-12. We’re asking KTC members to call in at 11am so that we can take part as a group. This is a great way to get a bit of exercise in advance of the day’s excesses and support a great cause – remember to wear your club gear for the pictures!
FRI 27th DEC – POOL SWIM & GET-TOGETHER – 7.15p.m.
If you’d like to get a swim in over Christmas, we’re arranging a club swim at the Kenmare Bay Pool from 7.15-8.45p.m. on Fri 27th Dec. If you’re a non-member, we’ve arranged a special €5 rate for the evening. We’ll head over to the Brook Lane afterwards for drinks/hot chocolate to boast about who did the most and fastest laps!
SAT 28th DEC – XMAS CLUB CYCLE – 10a.m.
Our traditional seasonal spin, departing from Centra at 10a.m. This year, the Lost Sheep route (90kms), with a coffee stop in Glengarriff for some festive goodies! There is also the possibility of a shorter route (e.g. Bo Peep or Sneem Loop) if the interest is there. Showers afterwards at the Bay Leisure Centre for €3.
SUN 29th DEC – “EPIC RUN” – 10a.m.
Join us on Sunday Dec 29th for another 10 miles of torture! Route is the Kerry Way from Torc to Kenmare. Depart from Centra by bus 10a.m. €5p.p. Showers afterwards at the Bay Leisure Centre for €3 and post-run soup & sandwiches at Jam.
Please contact Robert Whyte directly firstname.lastname@example.org as he needs to confirm numbers for the bus & food.
INTRODUCING… “THE BIG BAD WOLF” WEEKEND TRIATHLON!
Why not challenge yourself over the Festive Season and take on the Pool Swim, Cycle and Run? If you do100 lengths on the Fri night (approx. 1.9km – but no-one will be counting, it’s an honour system!), the Lost Sheep Cycle on the Sat and the Epic Run on the Sunday, you’ll have completed the equivalent of a half “Ironman” Triathlon over 3 days! We may even award “prizes” to finishers in Jam on the Sunday…
NEW YEAR’S DAY – OPEN WATER DIP – 2p.m.
The New Year’s Day swim will take place at Killmacalogue Pier at 2pm. As usual this is a non-wetsuit swim and all the family are welcome. This year, there will be prizes for the skimpiest mankini and bikini!! We will be swimming from the steps to the slipway but will have the comfort in knowing that there will be hot beverages and food available in Helan’s bar après swim. Keep an eye on Facebook for details closer to the date.
